Can my dog travel on TITSA guaguas in Tenerife?

Yes — if you meet every condition.
What this means for you: Tenerife is the island where the bus works: TITSA runs every line, city and interurban, under one rule, so a big dog can cross the island by guagua outside the two weekday windows. Plan around 07–09 and 13–15, and be ready to wait for the next bus if the bay is already taken.
The rule, line by line
What TITSA guaguas actually say.
- Who gets on
- One dog over 10 kg per bus — an accessible bus with a wheelchair bay — muzzled, on a lead under 50 cm, pressed to your side. Under 10 kg: in a carrier no bigger than 60 × 35 × 35 cm, one per person, no limit on how many are aboard.
- Who doesn’t
- A big dog on weekdays 07:00–09:00 and 13:00–15:00. A second big dog when one is already aboard. Any dog when the bus is too full — the driver decides, and can ask you to get off.
- How much
- Free.
- Where they ride
- In the wheelchair bay. Wheelchairs come first, then prams, then your dog, then folding bikes — in that order.
- Never, whatever the size
- Nothing by size, but the bus has to be an accessible one. You’re liable for any damage and for the dog’s papers being in order.
- Where this applies
- Tenerife — every TITSA line, urban and interurban — the regional bus network. City networks in the area have their own rules. Double-check who actually runs your service.
- Assistance dogs
- Guide and assistance dogs ride free everywhere with their identification, and the carrier rules don’t apply to them.
Still unconfirmed: Tranvía de Tenerife (Metrotenerife) — I haven’t been able to read the published rule yet. Treat as carrier only until the operator says otherwise.
