Can my dog travel on Lurraldebus in Gipuzkoa?

Yes — if you meet every condition.
What this means for you: Gipuzkoa is one of two places in Spain where the regional bus says yes to a big dog. The catch is the hold: on the coaches that have one — the longer interurban lines — the rule sends the dog down there in a carrier, so ask which vehicle runs your line before you count on it. Around Donostia and along the coast the low-floor buses take the dog on the platform, and Euskotren and the Cercanías take it muzzled.

What Lurraldebus actually say.
- Who gets on
- Any dog, on every Lurraldebus line, on a lead that keeps it in physical contact with you, muzzled, with its vet card and a civil-liability policy in your pocket. One animal per person, two per bus.
- Who doesn’t
- Breeds on Spain’s potentially-dangerous list. Any animal at night, wet, or in heat. A third dog when two are already aboard. And on a coach with a luggage hold, the dog rides in the hold in a closed carrier — not in the cabin.
- How much
- Free — no supplement for the animal.
- Where they ride
- On the platform — the standing area — on the lead, touching you, off the seats. If a passenger who boarded before you objects (allergy, smell, noise), you move to another part of the bus.
- Never, whatever the size
- Nothing by size. In any dispute about hygiene or nuisance, the driver’s judgement wins.
- Where this applies
- Gipuzkoa interurban and Diputación-run buses — the regional bus network. City networks and trains in the area are below. Double-check who actually runs your service.
- Assistance dogs
- Accredited guide and assistance dogs ride with the person they assist, always, outside every rule above.

The regional bus is one rule; each city network and train operator inside the region is another. 2 of the 2 networks below take a big dog — muzzled, on a short lead, and usually outside rush hours.

There are two networks where the idea is the same: lead, off the seats, and you clean up. Muzzles and fares vary, so read the row.
Pets may accompany you when they’re neither dangerous nor a nuisance. Not on Euskotren’s buses or replacement buses.
One pet per passenger, no weight limit, free — dogs on a lead and muzzled; local restrictions can apply.

Still unconfirmed: Dbus (Donostia city buses) — I haven’t been able to read the published rule yet. Treat as carrier only until the operator says otherwise.
