Can my dog travel on Global guaguas in Gran Canaria?

No. Global guaguas only take animals under 10 kg.
What this means for you: Gran Canaria’s island buses put a big dog in the hold, in a box, for the whole ride. That’s legal and it’s how a lot of people do it — but it isn’t what this site calls a yes. Las Palmas has its own city network with its own rule; check it separately.
The rule, line by line
What Global guaguas actually say.
- Who gets on
- Under 10 kg: in a carrier no bigger than 60 × 35 × 35 cm, on your lap, one per person. Over 10 kg: in the luggage hold, in a carrier with a waterproof base — and you ride on the same bus.
- Who doesn’t
- A dog on a lead in the cabin, whatever its size.
- How much
- Free.
- Where they ride
- Your lap for the small ones; the hold for the big ones.
- Never, whatever the size
- Anything not in a carrier.
- Where this applies
- Gran Canaria interurban buses — the regional bus network. City networks in the area have their own rules. Double-check who actually runs your service.
- Assistance dogs
- Guide and assistance dogs ride with the person they accompany, whatever their weight, without a carrier.
Still unconfirmed: Guaguas Municipales (Las Palmas) — I haven’t been able to read the published rule yet. Treat as carrier only until the operator says otherwise.

So what do you do instead?
Three alternatives, in the order I’d try them.
- Choose a location that’s serviced by a train.Ideally a station in the town itself, not a railhead half an hour out. Look at the walk from platform to front door before you book — a dot on the map isn’t the same as an easy last connection with a big dog.
- Walk it.Under about 3 km on a proper path, walking usually beats the alternatives — and it’s the one option nobody can refuse you.
- Book a taxi, an Uber, or a private car service.Check they take dogs, and book before you go. Turning up at a rank with a 30 kg dog and no arrangement is where these trips actually fall apart.
